Letter from a Friend Long Gone…
I’m scared of ghosts, spirits, souls or whatever you call it. Like me there might be many who could feel the presence of something invisible. Do you believe in ghosts? There’s no logic when it comes to these supernatural or paranormal activities. We just have to go with the flow and believe in it. So leave the senses behind, loose yourself in this tale a little too supernatural.
LETTERS FROM A FRIEND LONG GONE…
Two of my friends were living in a flat in Bangalore. Abhishek and Sarat were close friends since college. They moved to Bangalore (the Technical Hub of India) to make a bright future. While Sarat was still searching for his dream job, Abhishek already had one accompanied with a beautiful girlfriend who had a gorgeous smile.
Sarat was trying hard to manage the job interviews along with pressure from family. Days were passing; he still was facing rejections everywhere. Things started getting worse for him. Amidst all this, no one knew what he was going through, he was drowning in depression and stared hallucinating, alcohol, cigarettes and drugs had already taken a nice place in his life.
One night Abhishek came running to his friend Sarat, knocking on the door, “Sarat-Sarat-Sarat, see what I have in my hand. Your offer letter from Cognizant”. No one opened the door. There was pin drop silence, something felt wrong…
With the help of police and neighbors, he opened the door only to find Sarat’s body hanging from the ceiling. Everything just shattered in one brisk moment; Abhishek didn’t know how to inform Sarat’s family. Anyhow, everything was sorted and things went back to normal, Abhishek started living his life as usual but with his friend’s haunting memories all around him.
But it doesn’t end there, the dead comes back for the unfinished business some would say…
After 13 days, Abhishek found a letter lying on he table, his face went pale when he saw it was from “Sarat”, “but, but how is this possible, he is long gone, Shocked as he was he managed to open the letter, it said :
Dear Abhishek,“I know you haven’t forgotten your best friend and are thinking of him. I also know that you’re shocked to find this letter now. I’m neither sorry nor regret my death. I quit life to find peace which I’m in now. Life is not fair when alive. I can guarantee you that I’m really happy here, this place is filled with smiles, happiness, peace and beer though! You don’t need to work anymore. I suggest, you also come to me. Because I always cared about you, I want you to get everything, which I’m experiencing here. There’s mo…….”
Abhishek stopped reading, he immediately tore the letter and ran out of there. After thinking about it for a long time over his usual chai and sutta. He decided to go back home. After returning home, he washed his face and tried not to think about it, as he was already tired he crashed on his bed and in no time was sound asleep.
He got up the next morning with alarm ringing over his head, routine waiting for him. Forgetting everything that happened last night, he started his day with enormous reports and unfinished projects. He got off work and he noticed his heart was beating a little too fast at the thought of going home. With lot of courage, hoping he wouldn’t find anything absurd today, he went home.
He opened the door, washed his face, sat down on his favorite couch trying to relax but no for long, he was startled by some noise coming from the bedroom, as if someone was eating chips. Following the sound, Abhishek forced his body inside the room. When he stepped in, someone just vanished. But something was waiting for him, a letter fell from the ceiling right next to his feet.
Same letter, same writing and same mistakes….
He opened it and it greeted him the same,
“Dear Abhishek,I know you haven’t forgotten your best friend and are thinking of him. There’s more to life than just earning, getting promotions, hikes and fulfilling others’ desires. Quit ! Leave this world and come to me, There’s a knife on the same table. Think no more and come to me.
Yours’ lovingly,Sarat”
Abhishek thought no more and went towards the knife and within a heart beat killed himself.
This letter had taken over his mind, confused it to the extent that he stopped thinking rationally and decided to follow a voice only he could hear.
Everything just happened in a month’s time. Everyone was shocked and was in despair. No authorities, no relative could explain or wrap their heads around this dark agony.
What do you think, was there a ghost or there was any other side to the story????
Rumors were every where, some said Sarat didn’t die in the first place, but this was a plan to get rid of Abhishek, as he was jealous of his life, job and his girlfriend.
Another rumor was that Sarat and Abhishek’s girlfriend were cheating on Abhishek and made a plan to cover up the whole story.
Some said they saw the ghost, a lingering presence in their house so many times after this. The Owner never could rent or sell the flat to anyone after two back-to-back suicides. This was the most tragic story of my life.
So I ask you again, you still don’t believe in ghosts ?

What makes Women Different?
How we need to connect back to our Mom’s, grandmoms and their moms?
After all..you’re a woman!!!!!
I over-heard a conversation between a couple, where the husbands(In front of his family members) shouts at his wife showing her place in the kitchen and blatantly kicking in her stomach. I was shocked to see, but neither did I stop him nor did I console the poor lady. I’ve heard this over a million times by now, everywhere.
My memories scroll back to the times when I was a kid and read a lot about amazing women who have, despite being in an abusive environment, made remarkable changes in the history books and many lives like me.
I want to draw attention to my favorite women:
Maharani Laxmibai:
- Fight for our family to the extent of loosing our lives also
- Love our family to the extent of loosing our sleep, food and peace too
- Be prepared always to protect them
- Binding the family with flesh love and blood
- Sometimes forgetting what we are for them
Kalpana Chawla:
- Capable of hard work and persistent labor
- Kalpana Chawla often feels burdened by life’s demands and responsibilities-but still tries to be happy
- Become a sophisticated adult whose practicality and realism squeeze out the playful, imaginative side of life
- Capacity to express her uniqueness and to stand out in a crowd
P.V Sindhu:
- PV Sindhu’s struggle with consistency: Analysing the shortcomings in ace shuttler’s game
- she has consistently shown herself to be inconsistent
- She has a positive attitude and aggressive spirit
Conclusion
“Yatra Naryanti Pujyante, Tatra Ramanti Devtaha ||”
Meaning – Even Gods like to be in those places where women are worshiped (‘respected’ in this case).
Let’s go back to the times when women were worshipped, respected and treated with love.

At the End, I want to ask you-
What is that one thing that connects’ your Mom’s, Grandma’s and their Mom’s to you?

Suicide or Living
Life is like a game of chess.
To win you have to make a move.
Knowing which move to make comes with IN-SIGHT
and knowledge, and by learning the lessons that are
acculated along the way.
We become each and every piece within the game called life!
